Blog Manifesto

This is a blog that is dedicated to the inspiring and interesting people who I meet. Though I am starting this blog when I am while spending the summer in Cusco, Peru and La Paz, Bolivia, it is not intended to be a travel blog. Rather, this blog will serve as place for me to document the lives of people and the cultures that these people help to create. In order to achieve this, A MAP TO SQUINT AT will be composed of posts related to the following topics:

-WITHIN AN INSTANT: brief anecdotes inspired by unplanned experiences or powerful and irreducable moments that somehow represent or illuminate complexities of a particular culture that would otherwise be irreducable in explaining/understanding.

-INTERVIEW: Interviews of inspiring and interesting people who I know or have recently met

-PHOTOGRAPHY/VIDEO: obviously straight-forward. PHOTOGRAPHY/VIDEO and WITHIN AN INSTANT may sometimes be one and the same.

-PLACE: Description of a physical location that for one reason or another is important for a particular culture.

*WHILE TRAVELING AND WHILE STARTING OUT THIS BLOG, I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO STRAY FROM THE ABOVE SAID THEMES
